Hello Everyone! I hope this finds you well. The ‘Cosmic Calendar’ is a monthly update on the spiritual weather for the month. Transformational opportunities continue to show themselves through May of 2023. We’re all learning to navigate the energies of this evolutionary time. Its aim is to be helpful and educational, and of course, a little fun.
If there’s unfinished business that needs tending to, this is the month to do it. The month of May will surely mark a new start in at least one area of your life. How would you like your next 9 year cycle to look? More importantly, how would you like it to feel?
Work on the house, clean out the closets, finish the projects, pack it up and wrap it up. This means internally as well. An ordered inner house feels great. Clearing out cluttered emotions and outdated mind-sets allows fresh ideas to meet bold new connections, leading to your own personal big-bang.
In the Tarot The Hermit is #9. In it’s simplest form Numerology runs from 1-9 so it’s here we find completion in preparation for the inevitable new start that’s right around the corner with the #1.
Meditate, reflect. Go within to find the fire of the inner wise one. Sitting with yourself is powerfully healing. Insights arise like loosened buried treasures from a sunken ship. Find parts of yourself tucked away in mysterious hidden tunnels of your psyche. Letting your Soul speak to you can show you the purpose of your next adventure. Reflection allows you to open yourself to profoundly deep experiences of your own divinity, ecstatically and unabashedly. Awaken.
The Hermit is here to show you that your inner landscape is anything but boring and requests that you stoke the fires of antiquity. The ones that have burned for millennia in those who have hoped to rise up in communion with the greatest parts of themselves. This is where all of that starts. With one solo light…in the dark. This is a great month to purge and cleanse and here’s why…
May 1st is Beltaine one of the Celtic/Pagan, holy days, a festival in celebration of the light half of the year. Maypoles are erected with garlands of yellow flowers and dancing maidens all about. The bonfires are lit and the cattle run through and around them as a ritual offered in hopes of abounding joy and prosperous times.
It’s a great time to offer gifts of milk, honey, spices, butter and mead or whiskey to the local fairy folk, simply place it in your backyard or near a garden space. It brings abundant gardens for the community and a truly fertile beginning to any family or business.
We’ll also see a conjunction called a Mercury Cizimi on the 1st offering a moment of clarity, freshness and spiritual insight lending fuel for forward momentum. And some closure to complete your cleanse.
On the same day, May 1st, Pluto goes retrograde in Aquarius asking you to dig a little deeper and unearth any shadowy lurkers from your underworld and cast them asunder. This small but mighty planet packs a powerful punch that shouldn’t be trifled with. Respecting your darker side by understanding it can lead to balancing it with the light of inner truth.
On May 6th we’ll see a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio housed in the earth sign of Taurus. You can expect a powerhouse of emotional and spiritual release as this is an intense emotional cosmic event. This completes and rounds out the past two years of eclipses. Again, a great time to purge the past: forgive, forget and forge ahead. Taurus is hugely creative and sensual and Scorpio is deeply passionate, so it’s a good time to make a baby or a great work of art. Go deep and love powerfully. The shadowy side of this is the immovable stubbornness of Taurus and the unseen minefield of the wounds of the Scorpion. Keep these in mind as you trek your way forward and you’ll make it through just fine.
May 7th Venus makes her way into kind, welcoming and homey Cancer. Look for reliability, stability and fun on the 7th helping out and lending some Grace to the powerhouse of the Eclipse on the 6th.
May 16th Jupiter, the planet of expansion, goes into the abundance loving sign of Taurus so look for your fortunes to improve. This day could simply be the catalyst or the seed planting of better days to come, so keep your eye out for things to improve through July of 2023.
May 19th there’s a New Moon in Taurus. Be sure to get your intentions ready for this one! I’m not sure there’s a better time to focus on manifesting those good vibes your so longing for. Whether it’s improvement in health, finances, relationships, family or career this energy will give you a boost. Set the intention and then hand the baton to Leo on the 20th to run it across the finish line.
May 20th Mars goes into Leo turning up the heat on our leadership skills as well as our libido. Get ready for forward motion with this fiery trendsetter going on the move. Get your image cleaned up, the projects finished and the marketing ready. It’s time for lift off as the sky hits the gas peddle.
Watch out for larger-than-life egos and destructive power-struggles. Avoid where possible and compromise when necessary.
May 21st we enter social Gemini, so get ready to meet and greet powerful, intelligent, curious and just mischievous-enough creatures that are sure to keep you on your toes in all the right ways. Try not to step on theirs though, as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde can switch places on a dime in this sign. We need the light and the dark to keep things balanced and real, just be sure you know which one your dealing with and when.
As you can see, this will be a powerful mix of ups and downs this month so activate your Hermit by going within and knowing what it is that you want to keep and what you want to release. You’ll do yourself a favor, heal, ground and prepare for the new adventures all at the same time.
